SAMITIVEJ PLUS

The Samitivej Plus application supports iOS 10.0 and above, and Android 5.0 and above operating systems. All you need to do is download and install the Samitivej Plus application onto your smartphone and register your details to get started. 

If you have previously received services at a hospital within the Samitivej network, please enter the same registration information that you previously used at the hospital to ensure you get the most out of your experience. 

A: The Samitivej Plus app can be used at 6 hospitals in the Samitivej Group—Samitivej Sukhumvit Hospital, Samitivej Srinakarin Hospital, Samitivej Sriracha Hospital, Samitivej Chonburi Hospital, Samitivej Thonburi Hospital and Samitivej Chinatown Hospital. 

A: At Samitivej Hospital the protection of personal medical information is our number-one priority, and we strictly follow international standards to ensure information is stored as safely and securely as possible.  

When registering for the Samitivej Plus app, patients are required to confirm their first name, last name, telephone number, date of birth and national identity card number or passport number, before being asked to set up a password or Touch ID. Additionally, the user must enter a PIN code each time they access personal medical information. 

Despite the Samitivej Plus system’s high levels of security, users should still take the utmost care to protect their personal information, such as passwords, PIN numbers, and all other personal information. 

A: If the registration process has not been completed, the app’s functionality is restricted to only some functions, such as Search for a Doctor or Online Doctor Consultation via Samitivej Virtual Hospital. We highly recommend that you complete your registration to get the full range of benefits from Samitivej Plus, including online access to your medical history and health check-up results.  

It is important that users complete the registration process correctly. The system requires accurate details to connect you with your healthcare information. Make sure your name, surname, date of birth, and personal identity or passport number (4 details in total) match the details you provided to the Registration Counter of the Samitivej Hospital through which you previously received services.  

If you have previously been a patient at a hospital within the Samitivej network, please enter the same registration information that you previously used at the hospital. You can contact a member of our staff at the Registration Counter for assistance. 

If you have never been a patient at a hospital in the Samitivej network, the system will automatically connect your information with our Registration Counter when you register as a patient, thereby ensuring the information is the same as that on the application. 

If you have already registered with Samitivej Plus but cannot access some of the functions, such as treatment history or payments, it could be a result of the information you entered not matching the information in the hospital database. Either of the following factors may be the cause of this error: 

• You have never been registered with our Registration Counter. 
• The information you provided to register with Samitivej Plus is not the same as the information you provided to register with our Registration Counter. 

Please contact a member of our staff at the Registration Counter where you previously registered to check your information so that you can begin using the service. 

Samitivej Plus will only display information related to registration made at hospitals which matches the information used to register on the application. 

If you find that information relating to a certain hospital is not available and you wish to have all your information present on Samitivej Plus, please contact a member of staff at the branch from where the information has not been shown to confirm your identity and adjust your registration information to match your other registrations. 

A: To set up a new password, select “Forgot password” on the “Settings” menu -> fill in your registered email -> select “Reset password” and the system will send you an email with instructions for setting up a new password for the app. 

If you do not receive the email we recommend you check in your Junk Mail or Spam folder. If you still do not receive the email and it is not in these folders, please contact our staff at 02-022-2222. 

A: You can change your password by selecting “Settings” -> click “Change Settings” -> then select “Change Password” -> Fill in your current password, a new password and confirm the new password -> click “Submit” to complete. 

A PIN number is a 6-digit code that is unique to you, and which you use to confirm your identity so that you can access personal information that must be securely stored, such as personal details, treatment history, and payment information. It is important for you to keep your PIN a secret at all times.  

A: You can set up a new PIN code by selecting “Settings” on the menu and then going to -> “Change settings” -> “Change PIN” -> “Forgot PIN”. The system will then send you a new PIN via your registered email. 

A: You can change your PIN code by selecting “Settings” -> click “Change settings” -> then select “Change PIN” -> Fill in your current PIN, then fill in your new PIN twice to complete. 

A: Your “personal information” cannot be altered via the Samitivej Plus app. If you wish to make any alterations to your personal information, please contact the hospital’s Registration Counter 

Samitivej Plus is currently available in Thai and English. You can change the language by selecting “Settings”, then choose “Change settings” and select your desired language. 

A: You can turn notifications on and off by choosing “Settings” -> “Change settings” and then swipe the “All notifications” tabs to “gray” if you wish to turn off notifications. Swipe the tabs to “green” to turn on notifications.  

A: You may log out from your account by selecting “Settings” -> select “Log out”. 

It is the right of any patient to terminate their account at any time. For those wishing to terminate their account and delete all information relating to them from the Samitivej Plus application, the following steps should be taken: 

Go to “Settings” -> select “Change settings” -> press “Terminate account” in the user settings sections -> press “Confirm” in the message window and the system will send a cancellation email to the email address you used to register with Samitivej Plus -> check your email and click on the link in the email -> then press “Confirm Account Termination” to conclude the action. 

Once you have completed this process, you will be able to use that email alongside your identity number or passport number to re-register. 

A: Samitivej Plus will only display information on medication that has been prescribed by Samitivej doctors. 

A: Samitivej Plus will display medical treatment information (OPD patients only) carried out by doctors from 6 hospitals under the Samitivej Group. You can view up to your 10 most recent hospital visits, limited to visits within 2 years prior to your most recent visit.  

A: Laboratory results will appear on the app around 24 hours after your check-up. Samitivej Plus can display the latest 10 laboratory results going back for a period of up to two years. Additionally, graphs are used to display lab results of the same category once three or more of the same test have been performed. These results are also shown for a period going back up to two years. 

A: Samitivej Plus can be used to book appointments 48 hours (2 days) or more prior to the appointment. For example, if today is May 1, 2021, the system will allow an appointment to be made for May 3, 2021, and thereafter. 

If you would like to make an appointment with less than 48 hour notice, please contact our staff at info@samitivej.co.th. 

A: After you request a doctor’s appointment via the Samitivej Plus app, your appointment will be confirmed via email within 24 hours. Please check the email address that you used when registering. If you do not receive a confirmation email, please contact our staff at the Samitivej branch that you wish to visit.  

Once you have successfully made an appointment, the details will be shown on the app’s homepage and within the “My Appointment” section. 

A: Samitivej Plus cannot be used to cancel appointments. If you wish to cancel an appointment, please contact our staff at the Samitivej branch where your appointment is scheduled. 

You can make payments for outpatient department (OPD) services through the application by using a credit card, Alipay or WeChat, all of which are both fast and convenient, thus significantly reducing waiting times.  

Once your doctor has provided treatment and given you a medical discharge note, the system will calculate your bill and immediately send you a notification through the application. You can then access your bill and begin the payment process through the “payment” menu item. 

Samitivej Plus will only display your bill for a maximum of 2 days from your last visit. For instance, if you receive services on May 10, 2021, the information will be displayed from May 10-12, 2021. 

Select “Payment” from the menu -> then select the bill which you wish to pay and check that the information is correct -> select your chosen payment channel and complete payment. 

Once payment is complete, the system will send your receipt to the email address you used to register and your billing status on the application will change from “Pending” to “Payment Complete.” 

A: Samitivej Plus supports payments made by Visa and MasterCard credit cards issued by any bank worldwide, and by Alipay and WeChat. 

A: Samitivej Plus supports a self-pay system exclusive to outpatients. If you wish to claim insurance or utilize any membership discounts, you may contact our Finance Department for assistance with a claim or receiving a discount. 

A: Samitivej Plus only accepts payment in full. If you wish to pay in installments or make partial payments you may contact our Finance Department for assistance. 

A: The Samitivej Plus payment system utilizes the highest international standards of security available while also working exclusively with the most trustworthy banking institutions. The system uses Triple DES encryption and 256-bit SSL to ensure maximum security when sending and receiving information through the Internet in order to protect from data theft. Users making payments are also protected by the use of a one-time password (OTP). The Samitivej Plus server does not save a user’s credit card information. 

Those wishing to receive a physical receipt can contact a member of our staff at the Cashier counter at the hospital where the service was received. The staff will print a receipt once you show them the payment screen from your application or the receipt you received via email. 

You can use the receipt sent to your email or the payment screen from the application as evidence of payment for staff at the pharmacy counter. The staff will then bring you your medication immediately. 

A Guardian Account is a service available to parents who wish to access the medical information of their child or legal dependent via their own Samitivej Plus account. The guardian will be able to access a range of functions related to their legal dependents through the application, including treatment history, appointments, and personal information. 

To ensure full compliance with data security policies and patient rights laws, a Samitivej Guardian Account has the following terms and conditions: 

• The legal guardian must request permission to gain access to their legal dependent’s personal information by showing all the evidence of their own identity and their relationship to the dependent as required by that branch’s Medical Records Department. 
• The legal dependent must be under 18 years of age. 
• Both the guardian and their legal dependent must have previously been registered at the same branch of Samitivej Hospital. 
• The right to access the information of the legal dependent extends for 1 year, meaning that once that period has expired the guardian must re-apply for permission at the Medical Records Department for an extension. 

Once Guardian Account access has been granted, the guardian can access their dependent’s information by going into “Settings” -> selecting “Personal Information” - > entering the PIN number -> pressing “Switch Account” -> and choosing the name of the account which they would like to access. 

Guardians have the right to access their dependent’s information for a period of 1 year starting from the date on which they are given permission to do so. Guardians can make a request for an extension annually at the Medical Records Department until their dependent reaches 18 years of age. 

Once the child reaches 18 years of age, the system will automatically remove access to the linked dependent’s account. 

There is no limit to how many dependents one guardian can be granted access to, but each dependent’s information may only be linked with one legal guardian’s account. 

Samitivej Plus will only display information related to the dependent’s registration made at the hospital which matches the information their guardian used to register on the application. If a parent wishes to have access to all their child’s healthcare information, they should contact each branch of Samitivej where they have received services to request permission to access that information.  

Samitivej Plus currently only provides the queue system service for the following departments located at Samitivej Sukhumvit Hospital: Counter 1 and 2 at the Internal Medicine Clinic, the Heart Institute, and the Wellness Center.
