Specialty Hospital of the Year - Thailand

Samitivej Children’s Hospital has won the “Specialty Hospital of the Year”
award, a guarantee of our international standard of care, presented
at the 2022 Healthcare Asia Awards

Surangkana Techapaitoon, M.D., Deputy CEO of Samitivej and BNH Hospitals and Director of Samitivej Children’s Hospital, was on hand to receive the “Specialty Hospital of the Year” award at the 2022 Healthcare Asia Awards in recognition of the hospital's international standard of care for patients from throughout Asia. The award highlights our commitment to being an Agile Organization of Value, focused on sustaining strong community ties, and recognizes health organizations in the Asia-Pacific region for their commitment to improving healthcare services. We have achieved this recognition through a reliance on innovating technologies and an emphasis on value to give back to society.

Samitivej Children’s Hospital provides a comprehensive range of healthcare services in Thailand and abroad, with over 200 pediatricians offering treatments for a myriad of primary and tertiary illnesses. The hospital provides expert newborn care, conducts surgery—including minimally invasive surgery—for babies and children, and provides air and land transport services for its patients. We have partnered with Doernbecher Children's Hospital at Oregon Health and Science University in the United States, and Takatsuki Hospital in Japan, to share knowledge and expertise related to neonatal intensive care. We have developed new technologies, such as Samitivej Virtual Hospital, which ensures a 24-hour online video call is available to those who require immediate medical consultation. Other technology we employ includes TytoCare devices that enable medical staff to diagnose illness remotely and with greater accuracy than ever. Our social service projects include the Samitivej New Life Fund, which has offered a new lease on life to more than 200 underprivileged children requiring surgery for congenital heart conditions or scoliosis, or in need of bone marrow transplantation.
