The Samitivej Active Performance Medical Center (SMAP) is more than just a physical rehabilitation and physiotherapy center; it offers a range of uniquely tailored physical activities aimed at improving performance. The services provided at SMAP cater to professional athletes, people with a special interest in sports, those who have suffered a sports injury, the elderly, and those at risk of, or currently suffering with, cardiovascular disease. This is because, in addition to improving their athletic performance, we want our patients to exercise safely.
Featuring a wide range of equipment designed specifically to develop muscle and joint strength, SMAP also includes a number of highly accurate and medically accredited devices that are able to analyze and assess muscular function, which can differ significantly from general forms of fitness. Additionally, the center’s systems are able to record each user’s information so that our team of expert medical staff specializing in rehabilitative medicine can be by the patient’s side providing personalized advice at all stages of their recovery. In this way, we are able to ensure they make a rapid and full return to their daily lives, including being capable of playing the sports they love in a safe and efficient manner. We are confident that our preparedness means every one of our patients receives the best care possible.
Our services can be categorized into 3 main groups:
1. Sport fitness testing and training: These services are available to anyone wishing to improve their overall health as well as those seeking to prevent injuries. These services also extend to professional athletes and other people who have undergone arthroscopic surgery for an accidental or sports-related injury, such as ACL surgery, surgery used to treat a meniscus tear, arthritis surgery, rotator cuff tear surgery and surgical treatment for tennis elbow.
